Second Announcement of XVI EUROPEAN CONGRESS OF ICHTHYOLOGY
This is the second announcement for ECI XVI.
The XVI European Congress of Ichthyology (ECI XVI) will be held in
Lausanne, Switzerland on 2-6 September 2019 (with the post-congress
tour on 7 September 2019). Ichthyologists are invited to present their
research, knowledge and ideas in form of oral and/or poster
The SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME will include the following theme sessions:
A. Taxonomy, phylogeny and zoogeography
B. Morphology, ontogeny and palaeontology
C. Genetics, cytogenetics and physiology
D. Ecology and life cycles
E. Threats and conservation
Individuals wishing to organize a symposium on a specific topic are encouraged to
send a short description to email@example.com.
Please note that theme sessions may be changed depending on the number and
content of registered presentations. The number of presentations is limited to 2 oral
presentations and a total of 3 presentations per participant. The final programme will
be published on the Congress website in July 2019, and will be forwarded to all

CONGRESS VENUE AND ACCOMMODATION
The XVI Congress of Ichthyology will be held at the Aquatis Hotel (www.aquatishotel.ch/en/) and in the facilities of the Aquatis Aquarium (www.aquatis.ch/en/),
both situated in Lausanne, Switzerland (www.myswitzerland.com/en/lausanne.html).
Accommodation for registered congress participants will be available at special rates
at Aquatis hotel. Accommodation is available also in many other hotels and hostels
situated in different parts of Lausanne, and participants are encouraged to book
suitable accommodation in advance.
Lunch will be available every day of the congress in the cafeteria of the Aquatis
aquarium. Price of lunch per day is 27 EUR.
On-line registration will start on 25 February 2019. Please visit the congress website
to register. All fees are in euros, the currency of payment.
The registration fee covers all congress materials including Book of abstracts, access
to scientific sessions, welcome reception and coffee and refreshments during the
meeting. For accompanying persons, fee covers the welcome reception, as well as
coffee and refreshments. The reduced fee for EIS members is available only to those
members who have paid their dues by 15 March 2019 at the latest. In case of on-site
registration, the fee is 600 CHF, with no possibility of presentations.
Upon submission of your registration form, you will receive an invoice and complete
payment information. Payments can be made via bank transfer to the congress
account. Participants are responsible for all banking fees.
The European Ichthyological Society will reward the best oral and poster
presentations given by students. Up to three prizes for best oral and poster
presentations will be awarded and all winners will receive 200 EUR and free EIS
membership for the period until the next congress. For more information visit
